Sethi reveals Pakistan was offered to be part of ‘Big Four’
Source: Geo News | 07-04-2014

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman, Najam Sethi revealed that before the formation of the ‘Big Three,’ Pakistan was offered to be part of the ‘Big Four.’

Speaking to the media prior to his departure for Dubai, the PCB chairman said eight International Cricket Council (ICC) members were on one side and Pakistan on the other in reference to the ‘Big Three.’

In a change up to its structure, the ICC board on February 8 effectively placed Australia, England and India in charge of the game.

Najam Sethi informed reporters that Pakistan's international tour schedule had been fixed with all countries excluding India. The PCB chairman emphasised that playing Indian was essential for enhancing ‘Aman ki Asha.’

According to Najam Sethi a series with India would also be beneficial financially and lead to better funding for domestic cricket.

The PCB chairman said the decision to include Shoaib Malik and Kamran Akmal in the T20 World Cup squad was not correct. He added that there was no grouping in the team and everyone was united behind Misbah-ul-Haq.
